Some of the best artwork I've seen on Deviantart ever! Just it gave me chills and I now have a new background for my computer desktop!!!!
When it comes to the colouring I think it's magnificent and I don't think I've seen better for a looooooong time. The Originality is superb, and even though i was searching for League of Legends stuff, I find this art breathtaking!!!
Your drawing technique is probably close to the best i've ever seen, and you're obviously on a masster level when it comes to creating origninal and impack.full art!
Wow! I did not recognize this as your work. The abscence of your distinctive human faces totally threw me off. Most impressive!
I really like this armadillo-scaley iguana-dog beasty in the center. Especially the tentacle-tonge and pseudo-shark muzzle shape.
Considering Russia and China share a substantial length of border, it would be logical for their myths to overlap. Baba Jaga and Sun Wukong would make a very interesting 'team.'
It's refreshing to see Baba Jaga portrayed as other than an old hag. You've given her an unsusal glamour, a tall, shapely form. I'm not sure if the head piece is intended to represent a mask, or a distorted monstrous head, but it serves well to remind us we're dealing with something outside the natural realms.
Sun Wukong appears to be haveing second thougts about this alliance! I"m not sure that's your intention, but his expression is giving me a subtle "What have a gotten myself into?" signal.
I think you could have pushed the 'magic' effects a lot more, certainly with Baba Jaga. I think the ribbons of her costume are swirling about int the eddies of her power, but that's not clear. The only part of her clearly engaged with the 'spell' is one finger, of one hand. Now, maybe Baba Jaga has more power in her little finger than mighty Merlin had in his whole body, but I'm not getting that from this image. Her figure, and especially the overall scene set me up to expect something more... impressive.
The Bog Birds remind me of the kodama from Mononoke Hime.
I very much like the off-kliter landscape, and the mood you've established with misty background. But I'm not sure if i'm looking at the smoldering remains of a blasted forest, or some peculiar, unearthly plant growth, with giant standing stones/idols in the background.
The piece is something of a departure for you, and it grabbed my attention right away! I hope you will be exploring this kind of thing more in the future!
